Scales and interpretation

The Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) comprises seven primary scales, one validation scale and six occupational scales. The seven primary scales are: adjustment, ambition, sociability, interpersonal sensitivity, prudence, inquisitive and learning approach. The six occupational scales are: service orientation, stress tolerance, reliability, clerical potential, sales potential and managerial potential.

Applications

Executive deverlopment – comprises an executive potential report which can be combined with HDS and MVPI Inventory to collect meaningful information on a manager's strengths and development requirements Selection procedure – forms part of a selection process comprising several parts to match candidates against a target profile. Reports can also be drawn up for specific occupations e.g. security jobs Individual coaching – evaluation of opportunities and risks and joint elaboration of development scheme
